Welcome to Middle Tennessee State University’s Office of Institutional Equity and Compliance (IEC). Our vision in IEC is to foster a culture of inclusive excellence through our diverse people, philosophies and perspectives in order to advance MTSU as a national leader who leverages diversity to achieve its goals.

IEC Goals are to:

  • Ensure an institutional focus on access, diversity, equity and inclusion
  • Foster a welcoming, engaging and inclusive environment through the recruitment and retention of underrepresented and underserved students, faculty and staff that reflects the diversity of Tennessee, the nation and the global community
  • Provide data that informs university decision-making on access, diversity and inclusion efforts
  • Assess/Monitor institutional progress on access, diversity and inclusion efforts
  • Serve as a resource, advisor and liaison to campus officials, colleges, departments and committees regarding access, diversity and inclusion
  • Provide oversight of federal and state laws related to discrimination and harassment (Title VI, Title IX, equal employment opportunity, affirmative action and the ADA)
